Egyptian calls his daughter ‘Facebook’

After the successful revolution in Egypt which resulted in the resignation of President Hosni Mubarak, an Egyptian called his first daughter after the social network Facebook.

People were using Twitter and Facebook as an active platform to spread information, mobilise and organize protests and action against suffocation in an undemocratic system in Egypt. As a result, the Mubarak regime implemented a web blackout in the whole country.

Now, the baby girl welcomes the world as Facebook Jamal Ibrahim and gets overwhelmed with appreciation and numerous gifts from the celebrating egyptian youth.
