According to a new study from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Center for Marketing Research, America’s fastest growing private companies (Inc. 500) see success in the use of social media for marketing purposes.
85% of companies using social media view Facebook as succesful, 86% reported that Blogging is a successful tactic and 81% believe that Twitter is a valuable tool to market the business.
In 2010, 71% of Inc. 500 companies used Facebook as a social media tool (61% in 2009), 59% took advantage of Twitter (52% in 2009) and 50% made use of a corporate blog as a marketing tool (45% in 2009).
The study comes to the conclusion that Inc. 500 companies see social media tools as increasingly important to their businesses. 86% of the surveyed companies stated that social media tactics are somewhat or very important to their business and marketing strategy, up from 79% in 2009.
